What Testing does

Testing generates, runs, and analyzes tests for a codebase across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels. Use it to cover source files, inspect failures, and review coverage gaps.

Testing is cataloged under Quality on DirSkills. Testing comes from a repository tagged agent-skills, ai-agent-skills, ai-agents, awesome-list and claude-code.

Testing

This skill enables an AI agent to systematically generate, run, and evaluate tests for a given codebase. It covers the full testing lifecycle โ€” from analyzing source code and identifying meaningful test cases, through writing and executing tests, to measuring coverage and recommending improvements. The agent supports unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests across multiple languages and frameworks.

Workflow

  1. Analyze the source code. Read the target file or module and build a dependency graph of its functions, classes, and external interactions. Identify public interfaces, internal helpers, input parameters, return types, and side effects. This step determines what is testable and what kinds of tests are appropriate.

This is the opening of the README. Read the full README on GitHub.

Frequently asked about Testing

  • What else does seb1n publish alongside Testing?

Testing is one of 25 skills that DirSkills catalogs from seb1n/awesome-ai-agent-skills, the repository it ships in. Its siblings there include API Design, API Integration and Agent Evaluation. Each one is a separate skill with its own page in this directory, installs the same way Testing does, and is maintained by seb1n in that same repository. The rest of the collection is listed on the seb1n/awesome-ai-agent-skills page.

  • How does Testing compare to other Quality skills?

Testing ranks #1725 by stars among the 1817 Quality skills in this catalog. The most-starred ones next to it are Benchmark, Benchmark Optimization Loop and API Design Patterns. DirSkills ranks by the star count of the repository each skill ships in, so that order reflects how popular those repositories are rather than any review of Testing against them. Open each page to compare what they document and how they install.
